Define Insanity. Paying every human being an Unconditional Basic Income or Reinventing Spanish Flu?

Someone accused us of being insane the other day, just because we advocate paying every human being an Unconditional Basic Income.

Insane? Us? We want to eradicate poverty. Were not the ones in a laboratory reinventing Spanish Flu!!

We were then accused of theft, because we propose paying for it through taxes.

However, we say, This Land Is Ours.

We are born onto a planet that freely provides all the resources necessary for us to survive. The food, the land, the materials to build shelter.

When was the last time a tree charged you for an Apple?

Every human being is born with a right to a share of the land to house themselves. It’s been stolen from them. That’s theft.

Every human being is born with a right to a share of our natural resources to feed themselves. It’s been stolen from them. That’s theft.

Would a world without poverty be a better world? Yes or No?

Would a world without poverty be a better place for every human being on the planet? Yes or No?

We are able to give every human security, freedom and food. We want to do this, do you?

Someone then said that “work is exchanging your time/effort for an agreed return, if yours isnt worth a living wage its your own fault.”

So let’s use that logic.

Say we want to provide meals on wheels to poverty stricken OAP’s, but it doesn’t pay us enough to survive on.

We then get offered a job working in a laboratory reinventing Spanish Flu which would pay us enough.

Should we choose to make Spanish Flu because it pays?

Without Unconditional Basic Income we need to choose to work in the laboratory making Spanish Flu because we need to feed ourselves.

Is that logic?

Or

Is that insanity?

Unconditional Basic Income enables us to choose to provide meals on wheels.

Is that logic?

Or

Is that insanity?

How about if we want to care for an elderly relative, but it doesn’t pay enough to survive on?

I could prospect for gold, using mercury, causing miscarriages in my country, while poisoning myself and your food chain?

But at least gold prospecting pays.

Is that logic?

Or

Is that insanity?

Finally they said “an Unconditional Basic Income encourages laziness”

This assumes human beings need the incentive to feed themselves because are inherently lazy?

We believe human beings are inherently inquisitive, just watch any small child to see this.

If human beings are inherently inquisitive, the Unconditional Basic Income frees them to be inquisitive

Inquisitivness leads to creativity, dynamism & invention.

Creativity, dynamism & invention is what this world needs in abundance at the moment.

And we have 7 billion humans on the planet who are full of creativity, dynamism & invention. Given the chance.

Or we could just reinvent Spanish Flu I suppose.

  1. Well a lovely little writing that, and there is not really any need to justify a living wage because without money on a planet humans have made for themselves into a shopping planet we die.!

You had it right in the first place. Land, we have a right to harvest the living Earth for our needs for we are the living Earth. Itself. Every human being and every cell life creature has a free right to live on this earth because they and they alone, are the Earth, and of course we love idleness and as we idle, we work on automatic laying down the very Earth itself behind us as we eat, because the simple fact of life is that we are the Earth makers, the Earth creators, no matter that a stupid shopping economy organises for our earth to be sluiced down the loo to enhance the sea life. Earth trails behind us being made like we are all living 3d printers creating and recreating all the green Earth we see.

The people who say others do not deserve to live if they can not shop, forget that the Earth that we all live upon is created by all those who also do not shop.

  2. That was the most foolish post I have ever read. If everyone gets a “minimum” payment and it is derived from “taxes”, who do you think is providing those taxes? You are enslaving a working group to provide for everyone else. How about you work and pay for me to chill at home and relax? Sounds great in theory but reflects a complete lack of basic understanding of economics. Want to live in a communist society? Go to Cuba..see how that is working out for them.

    • It’s an investment in people. Worked well in the Olympics, imagine what it would do for society as a whole.

It’s not communism either. People are free to earn as much extra money as they want as well as keeping all of their Unconditional basic income . UBI liberates everyone’s entrepreneurial spirit.

Taxes aren’t just paid on earnings, taxes can be raised from peoples spending as well or a land value tax.

Think of it in terms of a countries resources and that every citizen is a shareholder.

All were doing is sharing out a countries resources equally between all shareholders and then letting them use their time to contribute their passions and talents as they wish

Unconditional basic income: freedom innovation enterprise.
